A leader in his field, Dr. Dewan developed the first point-of-care, PC-based decision support system for use in psychiatric hospitals. Building upon this ground-breaking technology, he became the first to develop a point-of-care patient education software in the field of behavioral health.

Further aiding consumers, Dr. Dewan initiated the use of the web to provide interactive decision support to consumers on medication guidelines. He also was the first to use the web as a survey research tool in academic psychiatry.

As one of the founding partners of the CMHI, Dr. Dewan utilizes his expertise in quality improvement, behavioral health, and information technology to transform the ways in which providers adopt best practices.
